New Zealand

Although it’s a struggle to get there, I’m not sure you can find more jaw-dropping golf course topography anywhere in the world. Cape Kidnappers features enormous cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with nearly every shot requiring a heroic effort threaded between jagged cliffs on both sides of each hole. And since you’ve come this far, check out Kauri Cliffs, the number-one ranked course in New Zealand, which is somehow described as having even better views than Cape Kidnappers. Jack’s Point, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu near Queenstown, comes complete with lake and mountain views. Tara Iti might just be a better design than all of them.
