TPC Sawgrass
When you think of Pete Dye, the first thing that comes to mind is the island-green 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass. Perhaps the most recognizable hole in all of golf, this devilish short par-3 has been tormenting tour pros annually for decades. The TPC’s dreadfully contoured greens, alligators, and the “exact line between success and failure” design concept that Pete first introduced to the golfing world at this track create a one-of-a-kind experience. Additionally, nearby Jekyll Island and The Ford Field and River Club (Henry Ford estate) feature under-the-radar Dye courses, and golf-happy Sea Island, Georgia, is worth the drive.
