tighter than two coats of paint

For years voted the best stop on the PGA Tour by the players themselves, Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island is unique in the golf world. The partnership of developer Charles Frazer and a young golf course architect named Pete Dye, this early 1970’s gem was the start of Hilton Head’s emergence as a golf mecca.  With very tight tree lined fairways and the smallest average green size I’ve ever heard of, Harbour Town is a shot makers paradise, and a bombers nightmare.  Avoided by many tour players who rely primarily on overpowering courses, Harbour Town has been described as “tighter than two coats of paint.” With a long list of courses from most every big named designer, Hilton Head and the entire Low Country provide every golf challenge you can imagine. And, the most family friendly atmosphere in the South.
